I’m Eleana Filadelfeos, owner and designer of the jewellery brand and shop Fi Atelier. As a little girl I was fascinated by my mother’s jewellery box. I simply loved all her jewellery. Soon enough I knew one thing: I needed more of that stuff in my life! At the time, I didn’t know what someone who loves jewellery should study. So I took a detour and studied French, Geology, Art Restoration and History of Art before earning my degrees in Gemmology and Diamond Grading. I followed any relevant workshop, course and seminar I could find: silversmithing, pearl stringing, antique jewellery valuation, ruby enhancement… you name it. I’ve been there! Then I started my long career through the jewellery business which took me from Athens to London, Basel, Paris, Mykonos, Bangkok, Hong Kong and New York… Until I fell in love with a Dutchie. What a surprise! I loaded my car and drove 2000 km from Athens to Arnhem. Within a few weeks, I knew this was my new home. I settled down, rented a small space and went to work. What I’ve learned this far: Follow your dream. Value your time. Work hard and never give up. Wear that jewellery.
