I paid my bill early and then the automatic set up was processed, I can't get refunded either way. Like what is their job? Collect money? And answer phones?

After an ER visit my wife was admitted to Cedar Park Regional Hospital. CPRH is listed as in network Hospital with Blue Cross Blue Shield.My wife was treated for pneumonia by Dr. Mudambi of Integrated Care Acute Services of Texas.My wife got the minimum of adequate care from Dr. Mudambi.After 3 days my wife was released. We were billed for 2926.31 for USACS services.Blue Cross Blue Shield notified us USACS was out of network and would not pay out of network prices.After spending 3 months in appealing BCBS's decision to not pay I called USACS to see what we could work out. I was given the option of paying the full amount in a payment plan or a one-time discount of 50% if I could pay today. After explaining that I was retired and my wife was almost retired and we were on a fixed income I pointed out i didn't have that kind of money just laying about,USACS made an offer to settle for a cash payment TODAY ONLY of a 70% discount of the original bill. I paid knowing that was the best term I was going to get. I actually got this advice from BCBS to demand on intake at the hospital to be only treated by in-network doctors. Health care has deteriorated to the point in an emergency situation you must tell the people treating your loved ones to not work on her unless you are in network or willing to pay an outrageously inflated bill for care.
