Taking the zip line is definitely the best way to get to Montserrat. Be aware, prices are pretty high (11 for both ways), discounts for children, students... There is a parking lot next to the station so its easy to get there.

A 100 years old station. The line connects Monistrol de Montserrat with Barcelona and Manresa. Funicular to Montserrat mountain starts here.
Around an hour train ride from Barcelona, another 15 minutes if you take a zip line to the top. As a result you will get an astonishing mountain view and priceless piece of history. This trip will take a whole day, so plan your time accordingly.
Catch the Rack Railway up to Montserrat Monastery you get a great view as you travel straight up. Cost is 38.86 Euro per adult and 21.20 for kids 4-13years but its worth every cent as you feel like you are on top of the world and the history and story behind this monastery is amazing.
Nice view but to expensive for 15 minutes ride
Nice scenery but too expensive for 15 min ride
