Great place to visit for any history lover. The ruins are great to explore but could be dangerous for smaller, unsupervised children due to the drops from the castle walls. Very easy to access along well maintained and pretty routes through a forest.

It's exciting for children to explore this castle ruin if care is taken. Set in woodland within a pleasant walk from the beach carpark
Just outside Beaumaris a little know and visited ruin of a Motte and Bailey Castle. Parking is available close to the sea front and a short walk, mostly through a wooded area takes you there.
Lovely little spot away from the crowds. A short walk on good paths from the car park through light woodlands along a brook and up some wooden steps to reach this site. Do sit in one of the little turrets or on the low walls and enjoy glimpses of the straits and down the steep slopes
An old fort, not the original 1080 buildings, but an impressive earthwork. Nice set of interpretation boards..
