Very pleasant slavic food establishment that I've been to a few times now. I've tried the chicken Pelmeni which are mildly filling and tasty with a nice herb and butter garnish along with Smand to dip them in. If you're a hungry person I'd reccomend getting a side along with a main. The blini were also pretty tasty but on the lighter side. The Borsht is very nice and warming, we went for the larger size to share which was a perfect size. Not overly meaty but still good overall. For me the stand out in fact is the honey cake. I've come back especially for it! The light honey flavour and super tasty vanilla cream with a soft and airy consistency is just heaven. Probably the best I've had in Berlin outside of Ukraine. Very friendly service every time I've been there, good Russian beer too. My only gripe would be the seating outside being not super comfortable but of course you can always sit inside where the seats are padded.

Amazing restaurant with a lovely staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere! Food was good, prices were fair and the waitresses were super sweet, talkative and kind. Especially a waitress called Yana, made the evening one to remember. Would sincerely recommend to visit if staying in Berlin

Matreshka offers delicious and tasteful eastern-european food close to Ostkreuz in Berlin. Make sure to include a Borscht soup on your order. Also the staff was very helpful and the house even invited us to a shot of vodka. Recommended!
