Beyoğlu is a district on the European side of İstanbul, Turkey, separated from the old city (historic peninsula of Constantinople) by the Golden Horn. It was known as Pera (Πέρα, meaning \Across\ in Greek) during the Middle Ages, and this name remained in common use until the mid-20th century. Beyoğlu district is surrounded with many Turkish delight, candy, coffee shops along with many shopping malls and restaurants. You would be never bored walking on this touristic street as you can see a great diversity of people coming from all around the world to see İstanbul..
Old school underground tram. Second oldest underground in the world I’m told. A very convenient and cheap way to get from karakoy to Beyoğlu.
Heart of Istanbul
Great! In general, public transportation is very good in Istanbul, but this 150 years old underground cable car is simply great. We walked up the hill, and it is a hard walk (yet very interesting and enjoyable). It took us three minutes to do the downhill with this car. Inexpensive (about 50c), clean, frequent and gets you between two strategic points- Istiklal (main shopping pedestrians street) and the ferry.
take this subway for my first time so cool and beautiful!from Taiwan
Easy to use, takes you straight to Karaköy
This is a must thing to do. It is a short ride and it will cool you down when it is hot. It will connect you 'to and from' Şişhane and Karaköy (Turyol). Cost is less than 2 lira.
