Good for kids
Really beautiful, and so easy to get to. Makes you feel like you are miles away from civilization, when in reality, the city is within touching distance!

Stunning peaceful area that is unspoilt by people. Lovely small walking area with a few benches for any time of year. Limited parking on the road which restricts the amount of people visiting which is a positive. Dogs are allowed in the area but would recommend a leash as the area is not fenced.
Lovely little forest, easily accessible by car from Cambridge. Perfect for (not only) autumn walks with small children. Very good for showing them different kinds of trees and observing how forests change during seasons. Good alternative to more well known Wandlebury country park that mighh get full.
Great place for a walk. Not huge, so we're not talking hiking - perhaps three quarters of an hour to go round. Lovely trees and other nature. Parking available in a muddy layby opposite the entrance. Shame dog owners can't keep their animals on a lead as requested. Obviously not a criticism of the lovely beechwoods, just a snarl at inconsiderate dog owners!
This is a small wooded area located to the south of Cambridge. As the name suggests, it's mainly consists of Beech trees. it is quite small and it would be difficult to make a walk longer than about 2 km. I visited the woods in Autumn (Fall) when the trees were in full colour and lots of brown crispy leaves on the ground. It was quite lovely and I enjoyed my visit. If you live near Cambridge it is worth a visit; however because of its small size it's not worth a longer trip. Hopefully my photos will give you an impression of what it's like in the Autumn.
