I purchased a 2015 Subaru Forester brand new, paid for the vehicle in cash. The vehicle started having mechanical problems and the vehicle has been in the shop a number of times often for the same thing. Last year I noticed that things were starting to happen with the vehicle and brought the vehicle into Quirk Subaru, I would not recommend them at ALL. After multiple repairs I found myself bringing the vehicle back to Quirk this summer, July, 2018. At this point my car was shaking when it started, to make a long story short, Quirk had to change the entire engine, at 61,000 miles, a new alternator, new belts, new spark plugs, and the list goes on and on. I reached out to Subaru Head Quarters to get support because my vehicle is still in the shop, I would think they would offer me support and nothing. I was told that Subaru stands by their cars.. Well I just found out, that they will not buy my vehicle back nor support me with this issue. BUYER BEWARE I AM SO UPSET AND WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT. My vehicle is still in the shop, no one knows what's wrong with it and Subaru will not help. BTW I paid for an extended warrantee and still nothing. HELP SOMEONE, As a teacher I just can't go out an purchase a brand new car. Now I am out a vehicle and no support from Subaru. NOT GOOD.

Late November 2017, I started a lease in California on a Subaru Impreza. The lease was conditional on my being able to continue that lease, unimpeded, in Canada. I knew I would be returning to Canada within the lease term and thus clarified that the lease, warranty, maintenance, and car return, could all be pursued in Canada. I would not have signed any lease if not guaranteed I could move to Canada with the leased car. Upon finalizing our move, I find out that the border services require a copy of the title and a letter of permission from the lessor. I contact Chase (the bank used by all Subaru dealerships) and they send over the copy of the title without hesitation. They inform me that the letter of permission is only valid for 90 days however and I cannot move the car to Canada. The dealership LIED to get the lease signed and get me out the door. After several conversations with Chase, they make clear that this is their policy, always has been their policy, and they refuse to budge for a \mistake\ by the dealership. Subaru head office took much of the same approach. They feel bad for our situation, but claim they can do nothing since it is a finance issue and the fault of the dealership. Way to take responsibility... I have only leased two cars (both Subarus) in my short time owning cars and while I love their cars, and the service I received in Montreal, I don't think I will ever give Subaru any more of my business if this is the level of customer service they provide.

Bought a 2008 Impreza Wrx off the “B” lot 5years ago. Had taken it to my mechanic before purchase. Paid them 250 for a look over, they found 1500 of stuff needing fixed/changed in the next 6mos. Subaru did not waive on price even with the findings. 2008 with 88k mi priced to sell at 15,999. Unfortunately the car needed a new rack and pinion (2,000) that would have to be replaced first, and then the second year the oem clutch failed(2000). then it went through five recalls of which the last two I received letters warning me 1) not to park in garage bc of risk of fire 2) not to have a passenger in the front seat bc of risk of decapitation (ver batum). Lastly, my Subaru has been sitting in my garage for almost 2years now as it had the infamous “ringland failure”. To which it happened while driving and so my insurance company had Subaru take the engine apart. Only for subaru to blame me for the ringland failure. Even though my last recall was 700miles prior and they gave my engine oil/color/fill a green on their special check sheet. Subaru settled this year in court in a class action lawsuit for the prevalent failures. Great, except my car wasnt covered in the settlement. So now, my first Subaru is still in my garage with the engine in the back in pieces. I was hoping the lawsuit would help shine light, it did but didnt help me get it fixed. Please someone email me and save my loyalty for this car/company. Update: Car is gone. Sold for 1/10 the bluebook. Never buying a car from a company that spent 10yrs and millions to cover up the mistakes, yet couldnt help me with my car. I switched to audi, couldnt be happier.
