Traditional unagi (fresh water eel) restaurant in the Ueno/Okachimachi area. The unagi is very carefully prepared and served in the traditional way. The also offer other interesting small dishes such as grilled innards and unagi omelette. The restaurant is very old but the exterior has been renovated, but the furniture is quite old which really enhances the traditional feeling of the place. If you are a fan a great unagi, this is definitely a place to put in your list.

Was looking for an early lunch in the area and saw this restaurant poped up so went for it. I got in at 11am when it just opened and was the first customer of the day. Menu consists mainly of eel items (as with most restaurant). The restaurant filled up pretty quickly with locals before 12. Ordered a medium unadon and egg roll with Unagi. I was not disappointed. The unagi was grilled to almost perfect and i can see the restaurant did put a lot of effort in cooking the eel. The skin was grilled to slightly crisp and the sauce was not overwhelming. The egg roll was particularly soft and the texture taste like it will melt in your mouth. It was also steaming hot when it was served. The price was appropriate considering the quality of food. They gave out a plastic card which you use for payment at the counter.
Great lunch special, get it before it runs out!!
Delicious unagidon. My beer also came with a small appetizer (fish lightly brushed with you). Service was impeccable and handled my broken Japanese sweetly
