Smallest fort on the Antonine wall, superb views. Very steep slopes. Great Location.
Located within Golden Hill Park, the remains of this Roman fort is one of sixteen that defended the northern Roman frontier of the Antonine Wall for a whole eight years before being abandoned when the Romans withdrew to its better known cousin, Hadrian's Wall, in 162 AD. Although there is nothing of the fort remaining above ground it's previously excavated footprint is visible and gives a fair impression of the scale of the site which affords commanding views over the Clyde Valley.
Overgrown and fenced off not very interesting
Not much to see
