Awful service after purchasing a vacuum online. I was assured during the purchase that it would be available for collection the same day but never received an email to collect my item. I visited the store an hour before closing and was turned away without any interest in my issue. No email, nothing they can do. I called the online helpline and was told the order was 'processing' and the store will let me know when to collect. I revisited the next day an hour and a half before closing and finally someone tried to sort the issue out. However they insisted the order was 'pending' and so there was nothing they could do. So neither of the only points of contact with currys would accept any responsibility for this order getting 'stuck' or give me any information who would resolve the issue. I was told by the store to order the item again and cancel the original purchase. I needed the item and luckily I was able to afford to. This worked and the second order was 'available' for collection within 10 minutes. What is even more outrageous is that this seems to be standard practice as I was told someone ahead of me in the queue outside had to do the same thing! How is there a problem that is happening this frequently and yet nothing seems to be being done about it? I'm now 398 down, I have filled in a form to cancel the first order (apparently the only way to do it) but as yet I have not received any confirmation of this, except to be told this can take up to 14 days. I can't believe that with Curry's the simplest things can be so difficult. Yet other retailers have adapted and still function flawlessly.

Today I found that two young boys were very rude and disrespectful to others a female colleague and myself. M6 e perience on the Colchester/Stanway store today was very poor. These two rude ignorant staff need to be retrained with customer focus as a priotity

They offer a kind of drive through service, I arrived at Curry's to pick up my new telly, (the old one got broken on boxing day, so a replacement was sorted through insurance), I arrived and there are allocated spaces for them to bring out what you have purchased to you, a bit like the marked bays at McDonald's when your food isn't quite ready, you scan the QR code on the sign in front of the bay and follow the instructions accordingly on your smart phone, once complete you are placed in a virtual queue (see pic), they bring it out and put it straight in your boot (which should be open for them ready to be loaded with your new tech), and thats it, you drive off, very simple, very safe.

Myself and my partner visited this store today, Bank holiday Monday. I can honestly say that I haver never experienced such poor customer service. I knew exactly what I wanted. I Asked a young man the price which he was unable to confirm (when we eventually got him off his phone) He left saying he would ask someone to come and advise us. We then waited 20mins plus. Finally I went and spoke to someone to say we had been waiting. Alas no person able to help. The store was not busy . I would be surprised if currys sold anything today. Most customers appeared to be just waiting / searching for someone to assist them. In contrast, when I gave up in currys and visited Hughes store right next door. I was immediately served by Harry, a very knowlegdeable young man who was able to offer advice and show us various appliances in a very pleasant manner. The appliance I wanted was priced cheaper in currys and Harry immediately agreed to price match. What a difference the professional staff Wendy and Harry made to our experience. Never again will I darken currys doors when I can pop next door and recieve great customer service and price match .

Impressive knowledge, customer service and assistance from Alex Eles who did a great job of explaining the features and benefits of various TVs to both my wife and I. He’s a great ambassador for Sony and the Colchester branch and, after I subsequently researched online, his service, patience and consultative approach ultimately influenced me to purchase from them rather than another brand. I was that impressed with Alex that I waited until one of the lockdowns was over to buy from his store rather than buying online. Thanks also to Filip who processed in Alex’s absence and the manager for making the price match a similarly positive and easy experience.
