I had Phil as a guitar teacher when i was 13 years old, and he really helped me develop. Now, much later, and in my 30s. I went back to Phil to help me learn more advanced musical knowledge. He is patient, very knowledgeable and able to teach all levels. He was also great at fitting in with very tight amounts of free time. I would certainly recommend him.

After many years of (self) learning to play guitar and write songs I felt that my guitar ability was holding me back. I first contacted Phil when working in the area and he set up an initial lesson for me. He immediately recognised where he could help with my guitar playing, but also suggested he could help with my songwriting. He was not wrong. After only a few lessons with him, he taught me basic song structure, chord progressions and techniques. Each lesson he focused on the areas that were most important to me. In the short time I spent with Phil, my songwriting became much more fluid and my guitar improved greatly. On top of all that, he is a really great guy who makes you feel at ease every step of the way. I highly recommend him to anyone considering tuition and will definitiely be back in touch for some \polishing\ when I'm next in the area. Thanks again Phil I'm forever indebted to you.
I cannot speak highly enough of Phil. He is extremely knowledgeable and capable of teaching any style of music. This, coupled with his patient approach, makes him the ideal teacher. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anybody.
