Dindigul City is well connected by Road and Train. Dindigul East is drought affected area, ground water level very low as \u003e1300 ft. Dindigul West and South is good at water level since those places are covered by Hill places. Dindigul North is moderate. Most of the Coimbatore Spinning mills moved to Dindigul district, because of labour association issues in CBE. Locals loves this Town, but other people loves Dindigul's Biriyani!!! Theni District people have respect on Dindigul since they are Dindigul's younger sibling of Madurai Big Daddy! Dindigul is "Gateway" of Sabarimalai, Kodaikannal and Palani from North Eastern districts.

Dindigul is a growing town. There are no rivers but it got many ponds that retains the ground water. Agricultural land is bit less around the town, major plantations include coconut mango guava moringa etc. It's famous for industries and companies. The people here don't follow road rules. You can find worst roads here with full of pot holes. No proper water supply here, so most of the people depend on ground water that is rich in salts. It's a busy town because of the floating population. This town is well connected with road and railways.
