I originally found this restaurant through a gluten free Google search while visiting Florence. We had at this point only been able to find gluten free spaghetti and that was getting old. This place though, PUB Lorenzo De' Medici blew us away. Not only with the extent of what you can order gluten free but service and quality were exceptional. They even had gluten free bread that didn't just come out of a plastic sealed bag for dipping in out oil and vinegar. Our waiter Raymond went above and beyond for us to the point that we came back three times. He was friendly, knowledgeable and all around an awesome guy. Thank you for such a memorable experience! The food was really tasty however the portions were on the small side. They offered a wide range of dishes good for vegetarians too. The white truffle ravioli was my favourite...and of course the tiramisu. It's quite a nice restaurant and wraps around the corner so has multiple entrances, and also has 2 floors so it's a lot bigger than it first looks. There was only a few people when we dined but can image when it's busy the service may be compromised. Service for us was fine although the waitress could have smiled a bit more :)

I wanted to go here from a good gluten free review I had seen and we were staying close by. I was shocked at how big it was!! All of the restaurants we had passed on the way were so small and cute I was very surprised. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We struggled on deciding and menu was a bit hard to understand so the waiter helped us. We wanted to try the local dish, steak, so we did. It did not disappoint! We got mixed cheeses to start with bread and I got gluten free bread and got a big steak to share and 2 side dishes. The steak was a bit pricy but it was very good and cooked . Worth the money!

From the outside thus looks like a nice restaurant with a mezine floor overlooking a small part of what turned out to be a VERY large restaurant. I ordered olives to start and a Pizza as the main meal - after a while (they were not that busy) a small dish of 7 black olives with no dressing or flavouring arrived, I questioned the small amount and was greeted with a shrug of you the shoulders and the waiter walked off - the Pizza arrived and it was clear from the presentation that little or no effort had been involved. The Pizza was mediocre at best but poorly cooked with far too much olive oil (the olive oil that should have been on the olives!!!) which made the whole thing soggy. I finished the Pizza and waited for service to ask if everything was OK and did I want anything else - I was considering a desert at that point but following a long wait just gave up and went to pay - a very large restaurant with only one payment point and someone trying to sort out a bill which somehow just wasn't going to happen quickly - I waited patiently for 10 mins then asked if they could take my money and I could leave - again a shrug of the shoulders and and non committal look as if it was my fault - at that point I decided I had had enough and put together the exact amount of my bill put it on the counter next to the till and walked out - this was 22 minutes from the time I went to pay. Poor service Poor food Poor customer services DON'T BOTHER GOING THERE
