Just checked in here today. Very impressed so far! It is a beautiful and unique building with a vibe that you know you are staying some place special. Very helpful front desk regarding what to explore in the city. Very cool bar.

Breathtaking views from the top of the funicular. You’re meant to buy a ticket to use the lift, but there was no one to show our ticket to? At the top is the hotel, an open air art area and a forest walk. The viewing area can be accessed without entering the hotel at all. The funicular itself was a smooth ride with ever increasing views during the climb.

Great historic hotel and restaurant a bit above Lucerne. The views are fantastic, and you can enjoy a relaxing drink or food out on the terrace. Not cheap, so you pay for the privilege. There is an adjacent modern art exhibit which is interesting. To get there you can either take a short cable car ride (make sure to press the call button!), or hike through the forest path up.

This is a castle hotel. You can enjoy nice view and super fresh air from the hotel. Staff were not too bad. Guest wifi couldn’t be connected after trying few times.

Open daily 4:30-1:15, CHF 2.50 p.person, 1.5 min travel time, 8 persons/cabin, length 170, rise 90m, wheelchair accessible. The old funicular from 1881 was replaced in 2015 by modern lifts that visitors can carry up quickly and easily.

View is great, food isn't really exceptional. It is not bad, but I expected more. Nevertheless, a great place for a coffee.

Great place to enjoy the bird's eye view of Lucerne and the old city wall. Relatively easy climb up through a well-established staircase, but be very careful the entrance of staircase is called Gütschweg, not Wilhelmshöhe as indicated by Google Maps. I climbed up from the wrong entrance and it costed me a lot of time to reach Chateau Gutsch finally.
