Picturesque view from the cliff. The view of the castle and the well- kept surroundings around it relaxes me. Several walking routes. Dog-friendly place. I am always happy to back go there.

Highcliffe Castle is not only a beautiful and historical building, but the surrounding grounds are perfect for a relaxing stroll or a family picnic on the lawns. There is direct access to both a wonderful sandy beach and the unspoilt nature reserve of nearby Steamer Point. The Castle has been described as arguably the most important surviving house of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture. It is a grade 1 listed building built mainly between 1831 and 1836 by Lord Stuart de Rothesay.
I love the history of this place, it’s fascinating and the guided tours are great. Lovely cakes too in the cafe
Very stately looking building, amazing since it was destroyed by fire and has been rebuilt in a way that retains its charm and also a reminder of its recent history. Lovely grounds with views of the Isle of Wight and the nearby beach is accessed via the recently refurbished zig zag.
House looks great from outside, not much to see on the inside as it was destroyed by fire some years ago. History of house can be found on line so good to read before a visit. Grounds and walk down to the beach is good.
