They are working hard to keep the centre open for us, and it's much appreciated

I've obviously not been to the Picky Centre since before lockdown and I really miss it. I have a guide dog called Ringo and we were both welcomed into the Picky Centre with open arms by all the staff. I used the swimming pool early in the morning, the cafe at lunch time, occasionally used the gym in the afternoon and used the cinema at night. There is a nice cosy dog bed, a fan and a water bowl at the pool for assistance dogs to use. There's bags of room for your assistance dog in the cafe. You can leave your assistance dogs at the reception desk in the gym where they will be very well looked after, and there is a wheelchair area at the top row of the cinema where you can sit and there is space for your assistance dog to lie down beside you. The staff in all areas are so helpful and friendly. I can't fault any of them at all. From my experience, I'd say that they're fully accessible in all areas. All the above is from my own experiences so if I've missed anything please accept my apologies.
Their cafe is brilliant. The staff are wonderful. Most of the time it is a spacious and quiet place to enjoy a coffee. Saturdays are usually busy though. The food there is great. The salads in a tortilla basket are certainly worth a try but in my mind the full breakfast is the best in Orkney, and it's a fantastic deal. The exercise facilities, climbing wall, pool, racket Sports, and various exercise classes are all top notch and it is a great place to get fit or hang out at the health suite. I'm probably biased because I spend loads of time here but it's a fantastic place.
Great fun class, well laid out and clear during Civic restrictions. Good being back in a class
Not sure what this place is like for its activities but I know it does have a large pull and climbing wall, along with a bouldering cave which you cannot gain entrance to until you've had an 'induction' . I came to the centre to speak at an event. If you're thinking of hiring for a corporate event I was recommend that you do not hire the Grainery room when the cinema is on next door. The studio however, seemed to work really well, until the air conditioning came on and delegates could not hear at the back. It's still a good central venue and the staff done all they can to make the event a huge success.
