The castle is still during partial reconstruction, but it's really nice nonetheless. We had several photoshoots there and the location is incredible. The castle itself and the surrounding nature was lovely, almost otherworldly.

I slept here for the weekend - great staff, tasty food, good beer, little bit barebones and sometimes cold inside in early October.

An old ruin that's build up. Lot of work to do, but the people are on the good way. A lot of respect for them, to take this challenge. It must have been an impressive castle in the early days. I will come back in the future I hope to see how it is going. Now already worth a visit.

Well worth a visit. An historical castle being slowy rennovated. Food and drinks available. And on occasion a small entrance fee. And on the weekend, they have reannacment sword fighting and firing of cannons etc. And a old church a little further on the next hill overlooking the castle itself. Great views of the surrounding area, perfect for photos. There is a fully restored tower on the grounds that has a very winding staircase to capture amazing photos.

Small but nice castle, the entrance cost is quite high though.

Need to see. Castle under heavy reconstruction from pure ruin to nice castle. You can see all stages. A lot of fun for kids too.

Amazing achievement of the own owner who rebuilds the castle

It is an interesting stop. I would not drive 100 miles to get there but if you are interested in the Erzgeberge area, it has a fair amount to see for a ruin. Also, work is being done there and I think it will be an even better stop in 2016.
