This place is filled with bubbly women cooking and serving and eating! They say you know it’s good if you see a bunch of women eating there alone. Well, this place has a bar counter perfect for just that where you can watch the women in the kitchen bustling about. If you like tasty grilled meat at an affordable price with happy people, this is a great stop! If you’re traveling alone, you won’t feel awkward at all eating here with this much energy and the bar!

If yakitori is your thing, then this place is THE place to visit when you're in the area to buy tea. Their skewers are grilled to perfection. I highly recommend the cold chicken breast with egg as an appetizer. English menu available on an iPad where you can choose to have certain skewers dipped in sauce or left as is (salted). Went in right at opening time and it was already buzzing with people. Will recommend going earlier to secure a spot. Skewers price ranges from 120-150 yen each. Their drink list is also worth a look.
We had a great yakitori meal here, pleasantly surprised!
Very good food and friendly staff. English menu available. Crowded even on weekdays. They close at 2.30pm. Last order at 1.45pm. Definitely worth the 45min. train ride from Central Kyoto.
