This is my go-to spot in Chinatown. The food is so good and they are incredibly consistent with the dishes being the same quality. I love to get the sweet potato fries with the Rub A Belly rice bowl with the Ginger Limeade. My boyfriend frequently gets the Popcorn Chicken bowl with mild spice. We like spicy - but beware, this is next level! Even the mild packs a punch! :)

MUST TRY: Earl grey milk tea. The *flavors* are just incredible. I’m never having boba tea or ice coffee again!

this is our local go to spot we're regulars at. Their food is great - get their popcorn chicken and plum sweet potato fries WITH the garlic tofu aoili sauce! we wish they sold the sauce on its own because it's SO GOOD!

Lao Tao is a small restaurant serving Taiwanese style street food. The menu consists of some rice bowls and noodles along with some smaller dishes like popcorn chicken. Covid-19 Take out Edition. There is no indoor seating during this time, but if you wanted to eat right away there are some standing areas to eat your food outside. I ordered to go and no utensils or napkins, which was a bummer since we wanted to eat outside at the park nearby. Sausage Party Bowl - 3 stars*** it's just some small pieces of sweet sausages. Nothing special. I prefer meats to be more savory and salty vs. sweet. Beef Ban Mien - 3 stars*** I loved the wider noodles, but the overall flavor of the bowl felt too light. I'm all for lighter broths, especially if I don't want to feel too heavy post-meal, but it's possible to have flavor and still be have a light broth. Popcorn Chicken - 4 stars**** delicious, crispy, and juicy. It had a nice spicy kick on medium level. Plum Sweet potato fries - delicious, but got soggy real fast in the to-go container. Probably should air fry right before you eat it.

I found this place watching a YouTube video about fried chicken. I've had popcorn chicken, which is a Taiwanese style fried chicken chicken bits, at several different restaurants. So I want to come here and try it. I actually got several dishes, an order of mild fried Chicken, an order of cold tofu and pork belly over rice. First of all the mild is very spicy so I would actually wouldn't get it that hot next time. I like the cold tofu which has century eggs and some pork floss with it. I feel like the pork belly over rice was lacking more flavor.
