We have a whole house generator that has Hickey Electrics name on it, I'm assuming they have been the service provider for the family we purchased our home from in March of 2018. Countless receipts also show this to be true. Wanting to stick with a company that knows the home and generator, I called on them. The following is my experience with Hickey Electric. We lost power and the generator didn't kick in. I called the after-hours emergency number and their answering service gave me another number to call. I called and I had to leave a message. Waited 15 minutes and called back. This time I actually got to speak with someone who said they would have the on call tech give me a call. 45 minutes later, still no call. I called back and had to leave another message. I was called back and told, that they didn't know why the tech hadn't called but that the tech was always good about calling. 2.5 hours later and still no call. There is a wheelchair lift that is inoperable as well as an oxygen concentrator that can't be used without power. Don't call Hickey Electric if life depends on it. It's now almost 6 hours later and the on call tech finally called. He said he just woke up. Told me it would be 125 just to show up because it's after normal hours. It's 7:12 AM!

Took a while to get them, but very happy with the experience. I live well north in the mountains 3 counties away, but needed my Kohler backup generator repaired before the snow. John was thorough, professional and reasonably priced. I have them set up to improve the installation of my generator, and for a regular service plan. Recommended.
