Maidstone Borough Council Reviews | Rating 1.4 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Maidstone Borough Council is located in Maidstone, United Kingdom on Maidstone House, King St. Maidstone Borough Council is rated 1.4 out of 5 in the category council in United Kingdom. The Council is committed to and shares the vision for Maidstone, identified in the Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-2020: “We want Maidstone Borough to be a vibrant, prosperous 21st century urban and rural community at the heart of Kent, where its distinctive character is enhanced to create a safe, healthy, excellent environment with high quality education and employment where all people can realise their aspirations.” Maidstone Borough is considered a good place to live and work with high rates of employment, relatively low levels of adults claiming incapacity benefits and a higher proportion of residents who have a degree than the South East average. Larger numbers of people commute into than out of the Borough. The Borough has a very mixed business sector with large numbers of small and medium size businesses with particular strengths in professional services (law and accountancy) and construction. There is a growing media industry led by Maidstone Studios and the Kent Messenger Group. Maidstone has an extensive further education campus (Mid Kent College) and a growing higher education offer with both the University for the Creative Arts and Mid Kent College seeking to increase their range of courses and facilities. Residents living in the Borough have relatively high wages (although many higher earners commute out of the Borough to achieve these). Maidstone came out as the top destination for business in the 2010 study of locations for business in Kent.

Had an issue with my council tax, got straight through to a chap called Amo, very helpful and sorted out my question.

Waste of time even contacting them for any reason. Unhelpful and useless. Begrudge paying expensive council tax for these peoples wages and this will be increased to pay for the current governments mistakes for recent events soon too.

Embarrassing, did anyone been consulted about King Street new layout? Maidstone roads has thousands of potholes and always get fix in a very poor quality. But MBC trying to make it worse, like what they done in King Street and messing around, just wondering who's designing full of hassle roads like this?

Advised MBC of a fly tipping incident a week ago now, that had left the road impassable, someone has taken the trouble to place roadworks signs at the incident, but nothing has been done to remove the 'tree surgery' debris' 2 things, how long do you have to wait for it to be cleared and how did they get the 4 signs up to the location, in a van ? couldn't that van have cleared the road ?

Missed small business help during covid because they delayed. Internal communication is really bad and their work process is so slow. Also they charge full amount of council tax for empty property. Thieves.
