Home Property Purchase. Admittedly, I only went with these solicitors at the recommendation of the vendors' estate agents. I part blame myself as I should have shopped around. Nonetheless: 1. Communication is unbelievably poor. You have to chase with endless emails and phonecalls, many of which go un-responded to. 2. My finances were done incorrectly by their accountancy team. On receipt of my final bill, I advised \don't I owe you an extra 1k\? - the answer was yes. Had I not spotted this, at the point of completion, the vendors would have been 1k short on their sale price, holding things up. 3. Because of point 1., the mortgage was advanced 2 weeks prior to completion - something that had to be rectified. It was then ultimately advanced a day before the completion date, and whilst this was explained as a courtesy to favour a swift move in, it effectively incurred a cost of a day's worth payment on the mortgage - something I am still waiting to hear back on. Effectively, Banner Jones should owe me one day's mortgage payment. I care little for the money, but I care a lot for the principle. Overall: Service-to-Price ratio is poor - because no matter the price, the service is almost non-existent. If you want to have to chase and call and email and wait for months on end, then by all means, use Banner Jones.

We leave message after message, voice mail and e-mail, but it is met with utter silence. The sale and buying of the property is going nowhere, and for each week (and now months) it is a financial cost, money down the drain, that both we and my father in law could be without. Fair enough the process is not A4, but communication ought to be.
