a very small but cute airport, not busy at all, however our flight in a small plane returned back and the other was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. i think only Loganair uses the airport and maybe one another airplane company. the car park is currently not charging any fee.
Tiny space, but lacking nothing! I'd love to see it fully open one day
Landing in Kirkwall was one of most adventures and beautiful experiences in my life. A fantastic flight, on a breezy day, blue sky, a clear view down to land and sea, with an experienced and skilled pilot. I enjoyed it very much and can say nothing else, just to recomend to fly to Orkney! Great, marvellous! Kirkwall Airport is like a hidden gem, a jewel amongst other airports. Small but beautiful! The main hall is waiting zone, perfectly used for arrivals and departures, one place fits all.
Helpfull people when I landet there with my Cessna.
