Golden Orient is a local Chinese takeaway, and although the food could be worse, it could be a lot better. The quality of some dishes can widely range between visits, as can the meat to sauce amounts. I think their biggest problem is when it comes to amount of orders. They're consistently late with their deliveries and even on collection orders, simply I think because they take on so many more orders than they can manage. While I was picking up my order (which was ready 30 minutes later than the 30 minutes I'd already been told it would take to be ready) the receptionist took 2 more phone orders. I feel like there needs to be more control over the amount of orders that they can take, which would lead to a lot less complaints I feel. The takeaway is reasonably priced, but I'd suggest ordering very well in advance of you actually wanting to eat to avoid disappointment

Bought a Tofu Chow Mein from here last night, and it was so tasty! The tofu pieces had that crispy outer layer and spongy inner texture. Also, the woman who served me was very friendly and helpful. Great place!
Bought it first time from here today and really disappointed with the taste. Dumplings was microwaved, egg fried rice was just boiled rice with scrambled eggs no taste at all my daughter could make it better, chicken with vegetables was tasteless. I normally buy it from another shop on high street thought would give it a try but never again. Portions and service is good but its a shame they missed the important part which is food taste.
I like this restaurant very much. there is a friendly ambiance. The kitcen is marvelous. the service is powerful and the team is friendly. The pay is reasonable. deeply recommend.
