It’s a beautiful cathedral. You have to adjust your expectations if you think you’re going to see Gothic architecture, as the only true Gothic cathedral in Italy is in Milano. It was surprising that neither the priests nor the monks knew where the tomb of Antonio Averlino was located. Usually I can find someone to converse with about the church’s history.

Beautiful gothic church hidden in such a large city. Absolutely beautiful interior, and a wonderful place to celebrate mass.

Unexpected Jewel of baroque and late baroque with 3 originals by Preti. Preti being underapprecated still today. Must see- for wonder late baroque emphasis on death and human guilt!
