Absolutely delicious and a really cute setting. We came for lunch and were lucky to get a table without reserving. You scan a code and then you can access the menu to order - I’ve included some photos to show prices, but it’s not the full menu. We had the ricotta cheesecake, which was different to the usual and really smooth, and then two pastas - pici with wild boar and another with game, both were lovely.

Unfortunately no longer an insider tip, even though it is so isolated. Here you have to make reservations outside of the season and you will be rewarded with an excellent meal. Corona-compatible, the menu is available as a QR code. The free WiFi as well. The service is extremely attentive and somehow always on time.

It's much more than your run of the mill Etruscan cuisine. It's a masterpiece, with the pear-nuts-pecorino pasta a centerpiece. Everything here must be good as we picked the most edgy dishes and were blown away. The crostini was great and things only got better. Rh octopus starter is excellent, and so is the tagliatelle with Guinea fowl. But the stuffed pecorino gnocchi-like pasta with pine nuts and pears was absolutely mind blowing. Get that. Twice. Oh and pair it with the extremely affordable but very smooth Vernaccia from Fugnano, a local white.

This little tucked away gem was definitely one of the top highlights of our visit to San Gimignano. Our boys were exhausted from our travels through Italy by the time we made it to their doorstep. I swear the staff has the patience of saints! Even with all of the grumbling they didn’t bat an eye. We took turns eating while the other would take our fussy boy outside for air but still really enjoyed our meal. My husband ordered wild boar and it was one of the most tender, mouth watering things I have ever eaten. The interior has low lighting and the original stone walls give it a very romantic and authentic feel (without the angry toddler).
