We had our 100 year old extremely distressed Ayres rocking horse very sensitively restored here. The quality of the job was superb. Although rocking horse restorations are not cheap this firm are comparable to other people offering this service. We couldn't be happier with the result. We didn't want it to look new, it has history and character and this needed to be retained and it certainly was. We would heartily recommend the work done here. Phil & Mags

We visited Hodnet and had a chance to visit. Wasn't open unfortunately so couldn't look round but through the window so many items that caught my interest. Old peddle cars, signs, old tools the list goes on but seeing the rocking horse workshop and some of the completed restaurations shows the skill and passion required to do this. Noticed that the building was up for sale as well and gives a good insight into the size of the place. Wish had the money to buy but a little out of my price range :( 550k ): Well worth a visit and walk round the village which is beautifull
I have visited David and Noreen on occasion and seen firsthand the craftsman ship that goes into to his projects. Not only the attention to detail but the passion David and Noreen have for there work. If you are lucky enough to be invited to see David's work then you will be truly blessed.
The owners of the rocking horse shop have been restoring and making rocking horses for about 30 years, very honest, trustworthy, I have three horses who have had work done there, prior to my owning them, and the painted surface has lasted well. Eg, no paint loss around the leg joints] careful visiting children do ride the horses. I have also bought horses from this shop. David and Noreen make replicas of well known Victorian horses, and beautiful miniature rocking horses.
