This is a beautiful spot, if only others appreciated it too and stopped leaving litter, shopping trolleys in the river and graffiti everywhere. So sad!

This is a nice, relaxing part of Skelmersdale town centre. The voluntary groups have done a great job at freeing the rivers of pollution. Bring walking boots, it gets a bit muddy in places! I hope the Tawd Valley Park survives the new town centre plans.
Living next to the Tawd Valley park I think it becomes too easy to take such a peaceful and tranquil place for granted. If you was to take a stroll through the many paths along the valley and river you could spend hours without seeing a road or a house. Having access to a place like this is becoming rarer all the time and I am lucky to live in close proximity to so much natural woodland. The council do a good job of keeping on top of its cleanliness and with the recent improvements it's got even better. If you haven't had chance to walk through the tawd valley or haven't been there in a while it's worth a visit.
Jewel in the Crown of Skelmersdale. There is a wide footpath/cyclelane that has lights. New clubhouse that is used for educational purposes by Ranger Service and for use by Friends of Tawd Valley and will be available to hire. Very underrated nature area. Hopefully, since the Lockdown, more people will come to appreciate what they have on their doorstep for free.
Nice park, even in winter
